The Northwest School requires the completion and submission of specific documents to assist the school in the process of making admission decisions. Please complete all the following steps by the dates specified. Below is the admissions checklist.
Please Note: If you applied online and do not see the supplemental materials that have been mailed to us on your personal application checklist, please check back later. It may take up to several weeks to process supplemental materials once they arrive. We will contact you to confirm receipt of your complete application, or let you know of any missing pieces, before we review applications for admission. Thank you for your patience and understanding!
Step 1: Parent / Guardian Application Form
- Complete the application.
- Include the application fee of $70.
- Submit application no later than the deadline of January 12, 2012.
Step 2: Tour Day
- We encourage applicants to submit the Application Form as soon as possible.
- Tour Day appointments will be mailed to you after we receive your application.
- Student Tour Day visit is required.
Step 3: Testing
ISEE Test
- The Northwest School will be administering the ISEE test on October 8, 2011 (register by September 17, 2011).

- Register for the ISEE test at www.iseetest.org.
- Take test by February 12, 2012.
SSAT Test
- The Northwest School also accepts the SSAT test for admission.

- Take test by February 12, 2012.

Step 4: Teacher Evaluation Forms
- Choose two current / recent academic teachers to fill out the Evaluation Forms.
- Print teachers' and applicant's names on the form.
- Give forms to applicant's teachers with pre-addressed stamped envelopes.
- Teachers may also fill out the forms online and mail them to the school. Forms can be downloaded here.
- Forms are due no later than January 19, 2012.
Step 5: Personal Reference Form
Choose someone who knows your child to fill out the personal reference. We suggest a neighbor, coach, family friend or non-academic teacher.
- Print applicant's name on the personal reference form.
- Give form to person of your choice with a pre-addressed stamped envelope.
- Form is due no later than January 19, 2012.
Step 6: Transcript Release Form
- Give the Transcript Release Form to an official at your child's school with a pre-addressed stamped envelope.
- Include transcripts from the current year and the two previous years.
