Environment Program After School Program Summer Camp

 

The Northwest School provides many opportunities for students to experience the natural environment beyond the city, through sea kayaking, rock climbing, igloo building, skiing, hiking, biking and camping. The Outdoor Program offers one-day and two-night trips throughout the year. These trips are designed to develop life-long recreational skills and habits that are safe and ecologically sound, with an emphasis on environmental ethics. Students can participate in the Outdoor Program on a trip-by-trip basis to earn credit toward the P.E. requirement. Outdoor Program Events:

• Day Ski Trip to Stevens Pass
• Cycling Trip – San Juans
• Skagit River Rafting Trip – Eagle Watch
• Olympic Coast Backpacking Trip
• Sea Kayaking Weekend – Blake Island
• Rock Climbing / Road Cycling Trip
• Alpine Backpacking – Ingalls Pass / Mt. Stuart
• Cycling Trip – Round the Sound
• Friday Night Ski Bus
• Day Hike - Geocaching
