Sports Teams Head to Playoffs

Congratulations to our varsity girls’ ultimate team and the boys’ track and field squad for being crowned Emerald City League (ECL) champions this season. The girls’ ultimate team finished undefeated in ECL play.

Meanwhile, Northwest’s girls’ track and field team placed second at their ECL championship meet on May 9. Both boys and girls track and field teams combined to produce 10 first-place athletes at the meet: Mosey B. ‘19 (100m, 200m, 400m, 4x100m), Tamrat H. ‘19 (110m hurdles, 300m hurdles, 4x100m), Jeffrey J. ‘19 (long jump, 4x100m), Keegan M. ‘20 (3200m), Ben W. ‘19 (4x100), Grace P. ‘19 (400m, 300m hurdles, 4x100m, 4x200m), Amelia H. ‘19 (100m hurdles, 4x100m), Maleda S. ‘21 (4x100m, 4x200m), Mikaela L. ‘19 (4x100m, 4x200m), and Lanie R. (4x200m).

The girls' ultimate season ended in a narrow loss to Franklin High School in the state semifinals on Wednesday, May 22. Congratulations to all the girls and to ultimate coaches Mark Burton and AnnaMaria Pape on a stellar season!
