Director of Development: Leila Thomas


Allison Bass. Capital Campaign Coordinator.
B.A. (Politics and Philosophy) Washington and Lee University. Allison has worked in Development at independent schools for 10 years, including 7 years at Seattle Country Day School, and manager of The Bush School’s $34M capital campaign. Besides being a loyal alumna and volunteer of her alma maters, Allison enjoys baking, eating, and sharing desserts with family and friends. At NWS since 2011.

Lauren Nelson. Annual Fund & Events Manager.
B.A. (Sociology), California State University, Fullerton. Lauren moved to Seattle from the San Diego area where she spent three years building annual giving and community relations programs for Scripps Health Foundation. Through prior development experience, she has also had the pleasure to work with the American Red Cross and Ronald McDonald House Charities. Her interests include creative writing, theatre, travel and exploring all that the Pacific Northwest has to offer. At NWS since 2010.

Laura Perazzoli. Website & New Media.
B.A. (Writing Seminars; Gender Studies), Johns Hopkins University. Laura graduated from Hopkins where she spent four years working in the Office of Undergraduate Admissions. She volunteers at the Richard Hugo House coordinating youth writing programs. Her interests include backpacking, traveling, writing and drinking good coffee. At NWS since 2010.

Jessie Schreiber. Development & Alumni Coordinator.
B.A. (Sociology), Whitman College. Jessie has had the pleasure of working in many different departments at The Northwest School since coming to NWS in 2007. Prior to joining the team in the Development Office, Jessie spent four years in the school’s Admissions Office as the Admissions Coordinator and Admissions Assistant. She also spent one year as a Residential Advisor in the school’s dormitory. Before coming to NWS, she worked in the field of environmental education. A native Californian, she enjoys discovering the Pacific Northwest, and, of course, grousing about the weather. She also enjoys reading, running, practicing yoga, and exploring the local music scene. At NWS since 2007.

Leila Thomas. Director of Development.
B.A. (Art History and French), Scripps College. Leila was an Account Executive with advertising agencies Wieden & Kennedy and Cole & Weber before joining the non-profit sector. She has many years of fundraising experience in the arts (Oregon Symphony, Pacific Northwest Ballet, Henry Art Gallery) and education (French American International School in Portland, Seattle Country Day School). Tennis is an ongoing pursuit, and golf is her new passion. At NWS since 2007.
