Paul Raymond Financial Aid Endowment Fund
Individuals and families who want to support the school's long-term future might consider contributing to our Endowment to enhance and grow our assets.
The NWS Endowment includes sub-funds for specific purposes including general endowment, financial aid endowment, and faculty support endowment, which are co-mingled for investment purposes. In all cases, the principal is invested, and a portion of the funds' growth and income is allocated to the designated purpose in perpetuity.
The Paul Raymond Financial Aid Endowment Fund was created in May 2007 to honor Paul, one of the co-founders of NWS. Paul Raymond's life centered around education and social justice for all people. He was passionate about providing students with "historical, scientific, artistic, and global perspective, enabling them to think and act with integrity, believing they have a positive impact on the world." That goal has become the central mission of The Northwest School.
NWS has offered tuition forgiveness based on financial need to 15-20% of the student body - students who qualify academically and share the school's values, but whose families would not otherwise be able to afford to send their child here. Recipients from this fund will be selected annually by the Financial Aid Award Committee, using the normal financial aid application process.
Donations in memory of Paul to this Fund may be given online, or sent to The Northwest School, 1415 Summit Avenue, Seattle WA 98122, payable to "NWS-Paul Raymond Financial Aid Endowment Fund." For instructions on making stock transfers, please contact development@northwestschool.org.
Faculty member Adina Berg and alum Aaron Rabin created a wonderful tribute to Paul, which is available to view on our Alumni Site.
