Library
The combined Library and Technology Center gives the NWS community access to a variety of information sources, including books, CD ROM's, electronic data bases,
online search services, and the World Wide Web. Many of these online sources also are available through our NWS Library website.
The goal of our curriculum-based program is to encourage students to be tenacious and independent learners, trained to ask questions, develop information-seeking strategies, and to synthesize and evaluate what they discover. Our librarian collaborates with teachers from all disciplines to create assignments. Our library staff promotes recreational reading through book talks and school-wide events.
Continuing Partnership with Elliott Bay Book Company
Elliott Bay Book Company is continuing its longtime partnership with NWS by providing a credit to the school's Library every time a student, parent or guardian buys a book at the store. When you identify yourself as a NWS community member, the store will credit 10% of your purchase to our Library account, providing a substantial discount for the school.
