Upper School Humanities teacher Adina Berg, was recently selected as a National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) Summer Scholar. Adina was chosen from a national applicant pool to attend one of 22 seminars and institutes supported by the National Endowment for the Humanities.

Coach Joe Bisignano was honored, for the second year in a row, as the 2011 Washington State 1A Girls’ Cross Country Coach of the Year by the Washington State Cross Country Coaches’ Association.

Every year since 2000 the Humanities 12 class "Law and Society" has conducted a mock trial in which the students play the roles of lawyers and witnesses in a case with facts that could allow for a jury to find for either side in the dispute.
Congratulations are in order for Northwest’s Mark Terry! The National Association of Biology Teachers has selected Mark as the recipient of the 2011 Evolution in Education Award.
This annual award, sponsored by the American Institute of Biological Sciences (AIBS) and Biological Sciences Curriculum Study (BSCS), recognizes innovative and effective classroom teaching and community education efforts to promote the accurate understanding of biological evolution.
Mike McGill officially began his tenure as Head of The Northwest School, Wednesday, July 13, 2011. He is the fifth person to lead the school in its 31-year history.
