After School Care Program

The Northwest School offers an after school care program for NWS Middle School students. It is a supervised setting for students who need to be at school up until 6:00 PM each school day. This program is not available to non-NWS students.

The program is held in the school library, providing a quiet space to work on homework, and get some organizational assistance. While not tutoring per se, sometimes that extra help getting backpacks in order and keeping track of assignments is a welcome boost. A small snack is provided daily for the students. There are no scheduled classes or activities in this design. This is largely to keep costs very affordable for our families. Any student participating in the program must have informed the school by 9:00 AM and be in the library by 4:00 PM.

While this is an optional, additional service the school is choosing to provide, we do not want financial challenges to prevent a family from accessing what might be a critical support. Please contact Tuney Kannapell if financial aid is a necessity for you to use this service. Financial Aid is available in conjunction with our regular Financial Aid program.

To register your child, call the front desk at the school at 206-682-7309 and speak to the receptionist. You can register for one day, for a week, a month, or the year. For more information and costs, please see the attachment or contact the Middle School Director.
