New families and faculty members are in the best position to see whether Courtesy and Common Sense and other "intangibles" are really at work in the school. Each year, I look forward to hearing their fresh impressions.

Below are some of the impressions that I have heard from new or visiting families:
  • My son tells me that every day, teachers tell him something he has never thought about or heard before. In his previous school, this didn't happen even once in a whole year.

  • The experience of walking through the front door alone was memorable. [We] felt the busyness, joy and friendships of the students... To tell you the truth I have never seen such an interesting school. One so passionate, respectful and filled with joy...
And from a returning parent:
  • "At a soccer game last week, our son got the first goal of the game. But it was in the other teams' goal... he was devastated. Not one person on the team said anything negative to him, and midway through the game, the coach told him a story about a game where someone did the same thing, twice in one game! They were both laughing after that. I thought you should know that your wonderful staff is out there helping the kids stay focused on what is important and what is not."
It is these reflections that reassure me that we are staying true to our values.
