International Exchanges

The Northwest School offers its students a variety of ways to experience the wider world. Through our relationships with sister-schools, foreign language students can live with host families in Spain and France for four weeks, and then reciprocate when their Spanish and French fellow students come to Seattle.

Periodic Orchestra tours have taken Northwest School musicians to Austria, Cuba, Italy and Japan as cultural ambassadors, and groups of Humanities students regularly travel to El Salvador to observe that country's elections.

Senior Spanish students also have traveled to Cuba. The Northwest School hosts Japanese students through its International Department Special Programs Division each year for five-week visits. These students live with Northwest School families.
