Emmanuelle Maher

Emmanuelle Maher

Residential Advisor

Hailing from Texas, Emmanuelle was a New Media Teaching Artist at SAY Sí, a nationally recognized afterschool youth-arts program with a focus on social justice. They also conducted graduate research for the Institute of Demographic and Socioeconomic Research— working directly under the Texas State Demographer to fulfill contracts for organizations including Head Start and the Texas Department of Transportation. Albeit currently on sabbatical, Emmanuelle's thesis focuses on addressing procedural gaps in ensuring Texans' access to fair and affordable housing. Their research interests revolve around civic engagement, political education, and critical pedagogy. Ultimately, Emmanuelle seeks to explore latent methods of engaging and mobilizing youths. They believe that youth voices are often underrepresented in political processes, and that counteracting such is an imperative step towards more equitable community planning.

Emmanuel is earning his Master of Science in Urban and Regional Planning , and has earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in Information Systems, from the University of Texas at San Antonio.
