Alicia has experience working in a variety of roles in different libraries, including public, private, and higher education. She also has classroom experience helping people of all ages grow and develop through appropriate and engaging curriculum and individual attention. She is a member of the American Library Association (ALA) and Young Adult Library Services Association (YALSA) where she was a committee member for the 2020 William C. Morris Award and the 2023 Michael L. Printz Award. She is a regular contributor of book reviews to School Library Journal. Her interests include bookbinding, reading, and exploring with her son.
