Rachel Fumia
Associate Director of College Counseling
As our new Associate Director of College Counseling, Rachel comes to Northwest with a decade of experience. She has served as a college counselor at the George School in Newtown, Pennsylvania, and German Town Friends School in Philadelphia. She holds a Master of Arts in Secondary Education from the University of Mississippi, and a Master of Fine Arts from New School University. Rachel comes from a family of teachers and educators and enjoys both guiding and learning from students every day. According to Rachel, “Listening to students is important for everyone. Their ideas are frequently helpful. They are learning how to evaluate what they are thinking within a broader context. They are discovering this world and their place in it. Every moment with students is a teachable moment, on both sides of the equation.”
