Rachel Fumia

Rachel joined the Northwest School community in 2020 having served as a college counselor at George School in Newtown, Pennsylvania, and Germantown Friends School in Philadelphia. She has 15 years of experience in college counseling and previously served as a dorm head and upper school/middle school teachers. Rachel comes from a family of educators and enjoys both guiding and learning from students every day.
According to Rachel, "Listening to students is important, as they are learning how to evaluate what they are thinking within a broader context. They are discovering this world and their place in it. Every moment with students is a teachable moment, on both sides of the equation."
