Teresa Ramón-Joffre

Modern Language (Long-Term Substitute)

Teresa Ramón-Joffre is a Spanish language educator and professional translator with more than 25 years of experience teaching learners of all ages—from preschoolers to college students. She has taught at institutions such as the Instituto Cultural Peruano Norteamericano, Seattle University, and Seattle Colleges.

Teresa holds an M.A. in Hispanic Studies from the University of Washington, where she focused on colonial and postcolonial Indigenous resistance in Perú. She is a certified translator and holds a TEFL certificate.

Teresa brings her love of Peruvian and Latin American culture into her teaching, creating learning experiences that center students’ voices, creativity, and community. She was drawn to The Northwest School’s joyful, cooperative spirit and its commitment to learning rooted in respect—for ourselves, for others, and for the planet.
