Xan Borseth completed a BA in Political Studies and Sociology (Pitzer College) and a Master's in Clinical Social Work (University of Washington) with a focus on children, youth, and families. She has worked in a variety of clinical and programming positions in community mental healthcare, addiction treatment services, domestic violence prevention, and outdoor education. Her experiences (individual and group therapy services) at Catholic Community Services and Seattle EMDR Associates provided in-depth training in mental health counseling. She has also served as an Alaska Fellow supporting the Alaska Network on Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault and the Sitka Tribe Social Services Department. Prior to her role as school counselor at Northwest, she worked at Seattle Children's Hospital as a pediatric oncology social worker.
Xan is excited to return to the Northwest School and be able to contribute to this community. As a Northwest student, she felt supported, stretched, and seen, and she hopes to offer that same experience and support to current students.
