NWS Students Excel at National Chinese Expo

Our Upper School Chinese students took part in the 2025–2026 National Chinese Expo of Student Works, which is organized by the American Academy of International Culture and Education (AAICE)

This year's event included over 1,000 projects submitted by 5,519 students and 250 teachers from 33 states across the U.S.

Upper School students in the Chinese Program pose with their National Chinese Expo of Student Works certificates.

All our Upper School Chinese class students participated in the event - and their skills and efforts received accolades.

The Chinese painting and Chinese calligraphy pieces from our Chinese III, IV & V courses were selected National Finalists for the online showcase - placing them among just 143 outstanding entries nationwide!

This Chinese Painting piece from our Chinese V course was selected as a National Finalist for the online showcase.
This Calligraphy piece from our Chinese IV course was selected as a National Finalist for the online showcase.

I am so proud of our students’ hard work and accomplishments!
– Yi Wang, Modern Languages (Chinese) faculty

This latest accomplishment comes close on the heels of Upper School students' achievements at the 2025 national Why Learn Languages competition a couple of months ago.

At that event, four NWS students received Honorable Mention for demonstrating strong language skills, cultural understanding, and genuine enthusiasm for learning languages. And our Modern Languages (Chinese) faculty, Yi Wang, was honored with the Outstanding Contribution Award.
