NWS Welcomes New Faculty

As we gear up for the upcoming 2026-27 school year, The Northwest School is excited to welcome new faculty to campus. Eighteen faculty - some of who began midway through the previous school year - convened to kick off the academic year with refreshments and an official welcome to the House.

The group included brand-new faculty, who are new to Northwest and our campus this fall, including Stefany Castiblanco (incoming Modern Languages department chair), Jessica Bolus (Math faculty), Jess Lemone and Tyler Bledsoe (School bus drivers), Julie Benner (Assistant to the Director of Finance), residential advisors for our NWS dorm, and more.

Also included in this group were a range of faculty who had joined Northwest during the preceding school year: Hope Angel (Director of HR), Erwin Wong (Director of Enrollment Management), Andrew Corse (Residential Life Coordinator), school counselors Xan Borseth and Tiffany YangNoah Short (Technical Director in the Theater department), Andrew Ringate (Creative Content Coordinator), Anita Kumar (Music faculty), and more!

Head of School, Ray Wilson, addresses incoming faculty.

Head of School, Ray Wilson, celebrated their decision to join Northwest in his welcoming remarks.

"I believe our paths cross for a reason," he said. "Your rationale for being here resonates with the mission of the school - to be here for our students. I appreciate you for stepping into this calling. Thank you for saying yes to Northwest."

He highlighted the school's mission to enable students to develop historical, scientific, artistic, and global perspectives that allow them to think and act with integrity. "We have students from all over the world and the Seattle community," he concluded. "Our goal is to prepare them for the world and life after Northwest, so that they see themselves as part of the whole."

We welcome our new (and returning) faculty to campus and cannot wait to see what the 2026-27 school year has in store for Northwest!
